I am needing to replace my fuse block on my 1987 Bass Tracker TX-17. I was looking at the the SeaChoice 10 Gang here on iboats.com. My question is: It says 30amps @ 12 V DC, is that 30 amps max for each circuit or is that a max of 30amps for the whole fuse block? I have seen others that say ??amps per circuit with a max of 65 amps for the fuse block. Just trying to make sure I get the right thing for my needs. Thanks!

Re: SeaChoice 10 Gang Fuse Block Question

It's 30 amps/circuit, odd that it doesn't have a total rating for the entire block.

I'd look into a Blue Seas fuse block as SeaChoice isn't known to be a high quality manufacturer.

Re: SeaChoice 10 Gang Fuse Block Question

That's the total for the panel and each circuit. Not to fret, though. Think about the circuit breaker panel in your house. You may have a 200 amp service, but if you add up the amperage of all the individual breakers, it is likely more than 200, possibly much more. That's not a problem because because you never use a total of 200 amps at once. Same principle applies to your boat.
