i have a 79 omc 200 with a 800 stringer outdrive hadf it on the lake yesterday and it ran fine in neutral but when i put in gear it wanted to die sometimes it would go but run rough and sometimes it would act like it wanted to take off would this be carbs issues or somthing else can anybody help and thanks

Welcome aboard ramman: Is this the first time you've had the boat out, or has it run well for you in the past?

yes sir first time out just had a lower water pump and impeller replaced tryed it out on muffs in driveway had no problem putting in gear and giving it gas did fine soon as i put it in the water it did this havnt tried it yet since i have been home.
