88 johnson 15hp seat placement

Waiting on some parts to finish my Johnson rebuild but in the meantime would like my ride more comfortable. I raised my seat a couple inches and would like to glass it. My question. If I am riding solo on this 14' and I am 250#'s, will I be able to get up on a plane or just stick the front in the sky. I would guess a 15 will plane you without much difficulty. With just you in the boat, it's always good practice to move weight forward. Gas can, trolling battery etc should be closer to the bow or at least beyond mid ship. You have to experiment a little with weight distribution. I've even stopped at shore and put some heavy rocks in the point of the bow to get things right. Best of luck. Rick.
