Default Pontoon- Converting manual steer to console steer

I just bought a very cheap used Sea Ryder 15' electric pontoon boat for the community lake that I live on. Only electric motors are allowed. The boat is in pretty good shape but, it has a small worn out electric motor that is steered by hand. Since I will be buying a new motor anyway, I would like to convert it to the more modern style that is steered with a steering wheel mounted on a console. Any idea how I should go about this? I know a place that sells the console. I need to know where (on line or off) to find the steering controls for an electric motor and electric motor to connect with it to make this conversion. Thanks.

I don't know about remote steering for a electric motor but you might want to check this out. trolling motor They have a 18' cable you can use anywhere on the pontoon and come in different sizes to meet your needs.Cost of new motor, console, etc. might be better to go this route. Won't tie up any space for console either.
