- a total newbie
- bought a 94 4 winn jet boat i think it is 2 stroke 4 cyl.
- always had problems starting but once warm not a problem
- have a new battery about 6 weeks old
- last time i dropped it the boat will not start no matter what
- that starter will engage initially but unable to turn engine
- took it out and continued at home trying. the starter will engage but couldn't turn the engine. at times the starter won't engage but will spin
- left it alone for a couple of days and did some on line research. i was convinced i had a case of hydrostatic engine
- i took the 4 plugs expecting to see water but to my surprise none came out
- this time the starter acted totally dead barely turning when i tried to start it.
- i moved the flywheel by hand it moved freely but no water cam out.
- check the battery at rest and it read 10.6
what should i be doing next. hoping i don't have to remove the starter as it looks pretty tight in there.
any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. thanks
