Hey all. I recently purchased a 1996 bayliner capri 2050ss and noticed on my first trip on the lake the speedometer doesnt work. everything else works. the tach works and it says im at 4200rpms wide open. Was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction of what i should be inspecting and such to see if i can get it working. Pics would be nice. THanks i greatly appreciate it.

Welcome to iboats!

The pitot (pickup) is in the drive's lower unit, I believe. Start by looking for a blockage in the small hole in the leading edge of the lower unit, as well as any kink or break in the tubing from the speedometer to the drive.

Your WOT should be a little higher, BTW, something like 4600 RPM, I think.
