Alright guys, my first post was incorrect in some ways so let me repost with the corrections. My 95' Glastron 17.5 ft has been bogging badly when you engage the throttle. Recently checked all the simple stuff: New Plug Wires, New Plugs, New Distributr Cap, Timing is Good, Replaced Module, Ran (3) cans of Sea Foam through the Gas Tank and still no luck. My temps are good and oil pressure was around 40PSI at WOT and voltage was also good. Also idles as good as it ever has.

At Wide Open Throttle it hits about 2500RPM and 10-15MPH (and it boggs very bad)

If you put it in neutral and rev it sounds pretty good, but will only reach about 4300-4500 RPM, I am going to do a compression test tonight and see how that reads.

Has anyone had anything like this ever happen.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. :D

Guess a WAG,...........

You've dropped the Flapper Valve,+ It's Blocking the Exhaust............

Air can get In,+ Can't get Out..........

It's Possible you'll be Looking at something like This,.... When you pull the Drive.....

Just a Guess.........

Doesn't really sound like Fuel Filters,.......... But I'd Change them Anyways.......

Well after testing the compression this is how it went:
Cylinder 1 = 180 PSI
Cylinder 2 = 180 PSI
Cylinder 3 = 180 PSI
Cylinder 4 =

My Mistake,

Cylinder 4 = 170 PSI

I thought these were pretty good readings, My next guess is to have the carb rebuilt. It has never been rebuilt since it was made in 1995. My car mechanic thinks it is the high speed jets in the carb,

What do you think guys?

Re: Still Bogging after troubleshooting 95' 3.0LX

dude your cylinder #4 is shot. you need a new motor.

just kidding,
clean out the carb real well, replace the power valve, you don't need to replace the main jets just shoot them with carb cleaner.
Replace your fuel filter(s),
there may be a filter screen on the inlet side to the fuel pump which a lot of people have reported gets clogged and causes fuel starvation. The other fuel filter screen may be on the inlet to the carb, which you'll see when you go through the carb. One last thing I can think of is the fuel tank vent, which people have reported can get blocked and cause fuel starvation. While your at it, make sure all the fuel lines are free of restrictions, right into the fuel tank pickup tube... basically go through the whole fuel system because any crap will just gunk up the carb.

Here is a list from a Volvo service manual with a few notes (in blue). About all you can do is start eliminating the possibilities.

Re: Still Bogging after troubleshooting 95' 3.0LX

Thanks guys, I have checked the inlet filter to the carb and cleaned it out, but was unaware of any other fuel filters. I will check the filter to the inlet of the fuel pump, hopefully i will find the problem there. Anyway the carb probably needs to be rebuilt it has never been cracked open and is due for a good cleaning.
Hey guys your info was very helpful and appreciate your time to give me some advice.

Later, Brent

Re: Still Bogging after troubleshooting 95' 3.0LX

I had the same problem last season sractched my head about it for weeks. I did New Plug Wires, New Plugs, New Distributr Cap, Replaced Module, checked the feul pickup and I still had the problem. So borrowed my buddys outboard tank and hooked it up to the water separator and the boat ran great not one problem. It is not worth the time or money to tear open the floor and replace the seats just to put a new tank in so I am running 2 outboard tanks one on each side and I have had no problem at all. BTW i have the same year and motor.

oranglastron I have the same motor and there is a fuel filter in the bottom of the fuel pump also.

Remove the cup on the bottom of the fuel pump and replace it.
I would also check the anti-siphon on the fuel tank
