HI, we have a 88 Baja 265 with a Mercruiser 454. Our gauge is pegged on the dash that tells us the amp's. We are afraid it might be charging our batteries too much, does anyone know what they should be charging at? We checked it with a voltmeter and it looks like 15dc and we checked our vehicle and it checked the same. Did this while the boat and vehicle were running.

A sound alternator will normally be regulated to @ 14.7 volts.
