1972 slickcraft. How do you get the fuel tank out. Tank is in the bow and I have everything loose but it won't clear the dash.
Thank you,
Rich

It was probably put in before the top was put down. You can reverse the process or remodel.

It is all rusty inside, even if I coat it , it has to come out to get it all covered,I dont want to take the top off the hull

I thought some one has already done it and could give me some good help advice.

Thanks, Rich

Ayuh,.... If it's a Steel tank, bash it up, 'n pull it out....

Then replace it with a Plastic tank, that you can shoehorn in there....

Rusty steel tanks, Ain't worth tryin' to fix....

Notice I say, Tryin' to fix...

I can't imagine 'bashing' a steel fuel tank, due to spark considerations . . .

. . . were fuel tanks ever made of steel?

Like the other have said, it was probably put in before the boat's cap was put on. You may have to cut things to get it out and a new one back in.

I have a boat that was the first year made; we had to bust up the tank but replaced it with one that dropped in; it wasn't as box-shapped but had a beveled end so it could fit.
