our 1981 johnson 115hp outboard motor starts fine and idles fine when put in water, but the minute we put it in reverse to back out of dock, it stalls out. We have changed the spark plugs, changed the lower unit fluids, and still happens. Not sure what is going on. We are thinking a problem with the carbs but it runs fine when just idling, sitting there. Any ideas? We are first time boaters so may even be a user error :facepalm: any help would be great!
