I either need to figure out how to get the old key stub out or replace the ignition switch. Can't seem to find the part and would rather just get the old key out but can't figure out how to do that either. I think a new ignition switch is around $160.00. Anyone got ideas about how to fix this.

how did you manage to break the key off in the switch?
Was it not fitting all the way in and you turned it too hard?

A dental pick is all I can think of to try to pick it out

It was somehow slightly twisted and bent when I bought the boat last year. I didn't realize how weak it was. Will try the dental pick or something similar.

Also, on some switches there is a little rubber boot that can actually be removed to give you better access to where the key is broken off. You could try using some super glue on the tip of say a toothpick, or dental pick, and carefully touch the broken part of the key to see if it will allow you to extract the key?

Hi, I am a locksmith and regularly extract broken keys from ignitions.
Call a local locksmith shop and bring your boat to them if you can,
hopefully saving a "service call" charge and see what they say.
