Hi guys,
Short presentation first. I`m a Norwegian, 38 years old. Living in Norway but got a vacation home in Florida.
I see from the advices on this forum there are a lot more expertice here than at the norwegian forums, so I decided to give it a try. Must admit I am to be considered a newbie in the world of boating.
My gear:
1997 Bayliner 2052 Capri
Mercruiser 3.0LX # 0K179400
Part number for switch interruptor (87) 19752A 3 (no longer continued)
My problem:
The engine stalls when i go from Reverse/Forward into neutral. (Or going from forward directly to reverse and vice/versa).
After searching in here I figured it was a matter of adjusting the cables. Followed a good guide I found in here.
Now it shifts, but on occasion it still stalls the engine.
The idle rpm seemed a little low, so I adjusted it a bit higher.
That made the shift work properly 100%, but the sound it makes when shifting tells me the idle rpm is too high.
Adjusted it back down.
So here I`m sitting..
The cables seem fine, so does the interrupter switch.
From what I have read in different threads, the switch, cables and the ignition module are being mentioned.
Are there any experts in here that have any good ideas, I`d be very impressed. (and happy!)
