15 HP johnson Carburater body

hi,

the little needle in my carburater body broke of. now i need to find a new body/a new carburator.
but now is the problem that i cant find it. because the build year of my outboard is 1991, and only a carburater body from an 15hp outboard of the year 1991 fits. so my question was does any of you know where i can find such a thing?

i have an 15hp johnson outboard short shaft build in 1991. and i dont know the serial number

here is a picture of the part i need.

Any 15 carb from early 80 and up should fit. Just check the main jets. Ought to be plenty around from wrecked engines.

we already tried another carburater from an older outboard. but it doesn't run good at those. thats because to 2 big holes on the body are smaller with the older/newer carburaters then with the one i have. the big hole has a diameter of 3 centimeters and the hole at the other side 2.5 centimeters.

i also forgot the mention that the number of the part is: MX431824

Probably because the 'new' old one you tested was a 9.9 carb.

it isn't on that list it is something in the body itself.

on the place where the arrow points was a very little tube that broke of.

Put together with a fresh #8, #6 and #4 and test. It is the extension of the metering tube going up in the venturie.

Only a carb from 1991 fits. I talked to someone today who knows alot of this and he said that the only carb that will fit id one from 1991. Thats because of the shape of the carb.

And with a new 8 6 and 4 doesn't change anything

The model number is: BJ15BAEIA

If the hole tube has 'fallen out', pull one from another carb and install. Pic does not give a clear indication of what you are missing??

the tube didn't fall out, on the place of the arrow whas a part of the tube standing out, and the part what was standing out broke off. the part inside the carb body is still there. and i didn't managed to get everthing out. its pressed in in to the carb body

Picture works fine. From what I can see, item #4 (Idle Tube) is what is broken off. If you can get
the stub out with an "easyout", then pressing a replacement tube back in should fix your problem.
If it won't come out easily, you can try drilling it out, or take it to a machine shop to drill and ream
it out. If you don't have items 8, 2, and 6, you'll need to replace those also.

Hi,
I have the same problem only a differant year. The carb. that you need is listed on ebay.I need one for a 1995 Johnson 15
HP. Old part # 437267 new #439129.
