I have a Boat I just picked up to restore, the title says it's a 1960 Runabout Ski/Bass 13.4ft. Manufactured by Explorer. Question is I can't find anything about the company or pictures of others. Can anyone help me?

Re: Need info on my boat?

Welcome to iboats

There are 6 separate companies that used the Explorer name (and this is really not a complete list..... there could have been more)

EBA EXPLORER BOAT & CANOE CO 100 SWCR 1006 CORSICANA TX
EBB EXPLORER SALTWATER BOAT CO 708 MADISON AVENUE CORSICANA TX
EBF EXPLORER BOAT CO 145 IND PKWY ITHACA MI
QIP EXPLORER INDUSTRIES LTD 9603 - 56 AVENUE NW EDMONTON AB
TSA EXPLORER YACHT INC 120 PICKNEY ST BX848 OLDSMAR FL
VEF EXPLORER INDUSTRIES BOX 61 PLEASANT LAKE IN

You may never find out any exact information since they are mostly out of business and based on the age there may or may not be pictures. There is a website called fiberclassics that might have some information but do not get too hopeful.

Check out our restoration section. Many people have restored the older boats and parts are impossible to find. You are forced to use aftermarket parts to get the boat back on the water.

Good luck!

Re: Need info on my boat?

Thank you for your information - your right about theses companies. Since I am in Lake Havasu Arizona this boat could be from anywhere, a lot of retires here for the winter (snow birds). It almost looks like a Glaspar, but has some noticeable differences. I just simply love the lines and contours - the good thing - everything is still on the boat and trailer. At least I believe so, doesn't seem like anything is missing. Can hardly wait to split and flip it. Thanks again for the help, if you happen to see something else, I will appreciate the update. Maybe I can show a picture of her, it may jog someone's memory. Best Regards, Dan
