Propeller Sizing

Hello ALCON,
Slowly but surely I am getting the boat all back together. Last night I got the sterndrive remounted and all connected. Today, I think I have run into a little snag. Four years ago when I bought the boat, which to this day has not been in the water for a boat outing, it had the propeller on but the trim tab anode was not on. I did not pay that much attention to it as I knew I would reinstall it. Today, I installed the propeller and the trim tab anode. However, the issue is that the propeller hits the trim tab anode; not by a little but by a lot.
Could the propeller be incorrect, the trim tab anode, or can it actually be both? The propeller is a Solas (http://www.solas.com/) and the marking on it is 15.8X15. The Serndrive is a 1987 Mercruiser Alpha I (NOT GEN II).

Any Idea/recommendations

Re: Propeller Sizing

Someone has certainly put a mis-sized prop on the boat. Stock diameter for the Alphas is, I believe, 14.25". If I understand the Solas site that is a 15.85" dia, 15 pitch prop. No wonder it's hitting...
My buddie has an '87 with the Alpha I drive and he has a 14.25" dia x 21 pitch aluminum prop.

Oh, and I'd expect this to be moved to the prop section soon too.

Re: Propeller Sizing

iboats(and others) sells an anode with the fin placed further to the rear to clear larger diameter props.

The Alpha(and Bravo) drives can fit props up to 16" in diameter.
