Ok, time to remove my 1979/1980 Mercruiser straight 4 outdrive and engine to have floor and transom replaced. Since I know nothing about outdrives, can someone walk me through the removal process, possibly with pics or diagrams?

Put the shifter into forward.
Remove the cross pin on the trim cylinders where it attaches to the drive.
Remove the 6 nuts holding the drive to the pivot housing.
Pull the drive off.

Or, read the manual below.
http://www.boatfix.com/merc/Servmanl/6/6covr3.pdf

outdrive and engine to have floor and transom replaced.
After you've got the Drive Off as per Don's instructions,.........

The Engine is removed,.. 4 bolts for the motor mounts,.. Several Water,+ Gas lines, Wires etc.....

Then the Transom Assembley is retained by 6 Studs thru the Transom.....Along with More Wires, Lines, Etc.......

I can have a Driveline Stripped from a hull in Less than an Hour,.... With Air Tools of course......
Going back Together is another story..............
