35 hp questions

I have a 35 hp outboard motor OB160591 that doesn't seem to be covered exactly by any of the service manuals I have looked at. I have the factory service manual for 35-40 hp but it is for serial numbers well above mine and shows a different fuel pump than what I have. My main problem other than the lack of specific information is with trying to rebuild my fuel pump. It says 98766 on the cover and I have found numerous diagrams that are close but none that seem to be exact. It seems that in some of the diagrams I have looked at there are 3 main pieces not counting check valves and springs. Mine is only 2 pieces, it seems that the base on mine is an integral part of the crankcase. It's hard to believe someone was dumb enough to engineer a fuel pump that has to be assembled on the motor instead of on the bench and then bolted to the motor but unless I am missing something that's what I am going to have to do. Anybody out there have any experience with this model or know a part number for the factory service manual. I did look in the sticky and the manual they have listed is way over my serial #. Thanks in advance.

Re: 35 hp questions

Thanks Faztbullet that does appears to be what I have. I am thinking I will have to put the assembly together with adhesive before mounting it on the motor or I am going to end up with pieces dropped or holes that don't line up.
