Penta 270 trim relay blowing fuse

I had a bad relay and I decided to replace both. I bought two new ones from the auto parts store -which seemed to be OK from the posts I've read - however when I hook the new ones up it immediately blows the in-line fuse. Any ideas what could cause this? The numbers are the same on the new relays and the only issues I've read about with using aftermarket models was with the size and making sure they would fit in the box.

Don't believe everything you read on a forum. Many of the posters have no clue what they are talking about.

Don, I thought I saw a couple posts where you said the same thing. Is it not true? What would be different if all of the numbers match up? I don't really believe everything I read but if multiple people are saying they have done this and it works I'm likely to give it a shot. I do come to the forum for advice so I have to believe some of it or I'm just wasting my time.

Any other thoughts on this or does anyone have information on relays that have worked for them?
