Attempting a water pump replacement in a 1997 DT140, and everything was so corroded I damaged the drive shaft housing underneath the water pump removing all the sheared / corroded bolts. The main piece of assembly #26 here:

How the heck do I get this piece out? Does the driveshaft need to come out first, or should it release and slip up and off the driveshaft?

Thanks in advance, considering bringing this to a shop as I'm reaching the limits of my ability (or patience...)

Looks like screws #25 need to come out first then you may need to use a slide hammer to gently pop that bottom housing out. The shaft cant be pulled out unless you open up the and disassemble the prop shaft case at the bottom of unit. I had to do this on my 99 Suzi DF70. Best of luck.
