with the help of of some of you guys, I finally got the fuel issues resolved on my 2001 225 ocean pro. When I took it to the water for the first time, I took 2 timing lights (new and old one) and could not get either one to work. I knew by the tach that the engine was idling too high so I just kept adjusting the timing screw until I got the idle down to a little over 600 rpms while idling in gear and about 650 in neutral. When I accelerated, the engine ran better than it ever had and when I trimmed it up, it went over 6000 rpms. Is it possible that I could have the timing set wrong and that is why it is running that good? and could I hurt the engine like this?
