I have a 2004 mercruiser 3.0 l that shut down as a result of low oil. I was wondering if the engine has a low oil shut down? Also i haven't try to start it since so was wondering if it would be ok to try.

Nothing in the system to shut the engine down, alarm only.

Also i haven't try to start it since so was wondering if it would be ok to try.

It's either start it or take it apart and inspect the parts.

How long has it been since it ran? Gas evaporates.
You might have to turn it over a few times for the fuel pump to refill the carb.
Also, did you give the throttle a couple quick pumps while turning it over?

It was only one day after the engine shut down that i tried to restart it. I let it turn over for quite a while and yes i gave the throtle a few pumps. It made a coule of small attempts but just never caught. Is there anything else i should try?
