j70tleda removing lower unit

i cant get the retainer pin out from the shift rod connector. dont have the manual for it. i know some are held with a cotter pin and some are a phillips head. this just looks like a pin you would push out one side and drop down the lower unit, but the pin is not moving. Help Anyone...

I am not sure of this situation, but you could try lifting up the lower unit to relieve some of the pressure on the pin. Lift up on it and try to remove it while you are lifting up on it. This is a shot in the dark, but I hope this helps.

i thought the same thing. i tightened up all the bolts and tried again. didnt move. i can see both ends of the pin. both have flat faces with no holes for cotter pin.

Ummn then I have no clue, sorry. I don't know much about removing lower units.
