I have a 1971 Sea Ray 21ft lg will a mercuriser 2.5 lite work in it1971 Sea Ray 21ft.jpg I got this boat after it had been redone oiutside and top hope the 2.5 will work????

No, boats with single 2.5L engines are in the 16 and 17 foot range. With that size of old heavy boat, you would need a 5.7L V8.

Of course if all you want to do is go at no wake speed, it would be fine.

I agree, a V8 of whatever size you want is what is common/desirable/needed. The GM 350 would be the best option as far as price is concerned. You can go up to a big block if you want, but then you have to start looking at engine/bilge constraints and Bravo I drive gear. The 5.7L will allow you to stick with an Alpha drive, which are more plentiful and cheaper to obtain. The 2.5L you have isn't going to cut it.

thank's you'll great in my book it has 350 now but alot of the parts are missing I was told it was taken part by owner just to paint it!
