took the boat out today for a run a solid alarm started the second the engine was running,

tach was working fine
lights and trim tilt worked fine
everything was good except the voltage increased on the gauge the faster i went up to 15V until i used the trim then it would bounce down to 13V and the alarm would stop until i let off the trim button and it would hit 15V again and alarm would start

just a solid alarm kinda like the one for overheating but the impeller was last year and the alarm started when the engine was started and increased in RPM

im thinking regulator/rec or bad battery ???

thanks

Re: High voltage/ Alarm

but what about the 15v at full throttle or does it usually sit there? , ive never noticed it before and the horn alarm goes louder the higher it goes in voltage

if the battery was bad it would be giving a low voltage would it not ?

Re: High voltage/ Alarm

bigger question some places say the regulator is a 35amp and others are saying it is a 10 amp, does anyone know which one it really is ??
