I have a mercury 115 and can't get it to raise or lower. When I try I hear what sounds like a solenoid clicking but nothing happens. Does anyone have any advice on what it might be or what to try?

there it a kill switch for trim on port side , are you on lake or on trailer . if on trailer-lower front to see if it works. or you may have a low battier check voltage

The clicking solenoid means the switch and solenoid are working. The solenoid should be connecting the trim motor to the battery voltage. Is the trim motor receiving 12 volts? Check it with a voltmeter.

I can't sen to find the kill switch Charlie61. I may not be looking in the right spot though, could you be more specific. I haven't thrown a voltmeter on it yet Dave1027 but I'll be sure to try that to make sure it's receiving 12 volts. I appreciate the help from both of you.

Your new so looking from back of your boat the left side of motor on the trim housing where could be wires going to a just screw , where could be a bypass switch or button on your control arm. if youneed a picture I will fine one
