Outdrive swap??

I am looking to replace my Alpha One Gen II. Is it possible to use a Gen I, or will I have to change the gimbal housing and/or torque coupler? <br /><br />Only asking because I see a lot more Gen I's for sale than Gen II's. I was also thinking about buying a new SEI outdrive if I can't find an excellent used one.<br /><br />Thanks for all the help!<br /><br />Jim

You may have to remove the gearlube reservior fitting from the bell housing. The input shaft is different but can be swapped.

Gen 1 & gen 2 don't mix....<br />Get a gen 2, bolt it on & go boating ;) ....JK

Thanks for the info. Kinda figured they weren't interchangeable, but htought i'd ask to be sure!
