Hello I just picked up this boat. It looks like for some reason there was wood added and the engine was raised higher. I took the boat out and it is very slow with a 50 Johnson. Is it possible it is because the engine is to high and the properlors are barely under the water? Can I cut the wood and just reseal the top where I cut to match the shape of the rear of the boat. I would have to shave down the left over wood though in order to make the mount fit over the wood and back hull of the boat because the wood is so wide. Is this safe to do? and What would be best to use to cut and shave a portion of the wood down just maybe a 1/4 inch to make the mount fit over? thank you erik
