Gotta figure if it's the shift rod or the gear.
Did you remove anything from the lower?Screws or pins??
Motor off,needle nose pliers.Remove the TINY cotter key and remove the pin.
Unhook the shift barrel.
REach in and pull up on the shift rod,turn prop both ways.
Then push down on the shaft and turn prop. Lock in gear?
If no gears then the shift rod might have come loose.
If there is gear.Then follow the linkage to the top.
Under the front of the motor,there is a shift mechanism.It could have come loose.Look in and see if any loose or missing nuts.
