I hit a stump and put a hole in my hull. I want to remove the 84 Johnson motor so I can turn the hull over for the repair. (I am not sure I can do this but it seems the best way to access the repair.) The motor has power trim and a rack and pinion steering system. It looks like the motor and power trim will come off in one piece. The problem is how to disconnect the steering. I can see how to disconnect the linkage at the motor but don't know how to remove the rod out of the bushings on the motor mount. Anyone who can help?
