I have a 2000, 200hp ox66 Yam that starts fine and runs well until it is on plain for about 5 minutes and that the rpms drop to about 2000 rpms, the engine nerver shuts off and if I run it at this speed for a while I can get it up on plane for a while and it happens all over again. I never get any buzzer or any warning lights on the digital tach. I replaced the oil strainer from the remote tank thinking that it was clogged and was not keeping the engine mounted tank full at high speed but it made no difference. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated, the boating season in New England is short enough. Thanks

I would test the alarm system to make sure the overheat and low oil sets off the buzzer and show up on gauges.
One you find out that let us know

How do I test the alarm system. When I turn on the key on my other boat with a Suzuki motor the buzzer sounds and the gauges light up. with this Yam which I have had for 6 years I don't have that, the only reason I know I have a buzzer is the engine ran hot once and the buzzer went off. Rich

Drain the motor mounted oil tank or ground the temperature sensor would be my thoughts.

I believe you can remove the safety lanyard clip and turn the key to see if it sounds, but that does not tell you that the low level or overtemp works

I am going down to the boat tomorow after work and I will give that a try. Thanks
