Hi there... was mopping out a small bit of water from my boat this evening and found the attached wire floating loose... anyone recognize it as a standard wire?

I have a 2006 5.7L Mercruiser Black Scorpion, with a Walter V-Drive.

Thanks so much in advance!

Kinda hard to say but it looks like a ground wire. Check the back of the block for a grounding post. There may be other wires grounded to the same post. Hope it's not the + side of the electrical system. Might try tracing it back to whence it came.

Looks like part of the boat wiring (not engine wiring) to me. Mercruiser doesn't use that type terminal on their wiring.
It also has a covering on it like the rest of the boats wiring. Pull the cover back and see what color the wire is. May give you some idea what it goes to.
