primer solenoid and high idle

been having motor troubles. before, i could start it but it didn't seem to have enough power to get into gear. now i have the thing running much more consistently after resetting the Carb floats, sync and link and fixing a vacuum leak.

now when i start it, it only continues to run if i turn the the primer lever to almost all the way manual. too much towards the regular position (red lever over the the primer housing) and it dramatically increases the rpms and i cant shift into gear. all the way to manual it dies.

i am thinking it may be an air leak?


i am going to write out loud.....3 hoses there. one that brings fuel in and 2 that feed fuel out. so in manual mode it allows fuel to flow freely correct? in normal mode it is closed unless the key is pushed in? so maybe there is a leak in the 2 hoses coming out of the primer? sucking air and running lean causing it to idle fast?

so i guess i will start with replacing the 2 out flowing tubes?
