I have mercruiser 350 260 that has water in the oil and was hydrolocked. I pulled the plugs and had some water on top of the cylinders .. I also check the compression due to lacking power and found no compression on one cylinder. I pulled the valve covers and had a stuck valve and obvious evidence of water. When I took the exhaust manifolds off it did look like one of the gaskets may have been leaking. There isn't a lot of rust but this is a new problem but the number 1 Cylinder exhaust manifold port looked like there was a water trail. So now I have the intake off and just removed all of the bolts from the heads. I didn't take the heads off because I didn't have time but all I have to do I pull them off. I'm going to check the head gasket obviously but how can I check to see if the block is good? The valley looks good there are no cracks but I don't want to put this back together if the block is toast. I'm going to put vortec heads and intake on when it goes back together. But how can I make sure the block is ok? Thanks for the help!
