Loud Clicking Sound Question for my 1988 70 HP Mercury Outboard

Perhaps this is a normal thing and I never noticed this before but with the sparkplug wires removed and my outboard is in forward gear, when I manually turn the propeller clockwise, there is a loud clicking sound coming from the lower end. Can anyone guide me on this please?

Normal for a boat in forward...

Yes this is normal in forward in rev; it will not turn right or left.,

It is just the bevels on the clutch dog and the forward gear ratcheting. If you try turning it counter clockwise it won't turn too far.
