Sometimes you can rent a puller at your local auto parts store. Be sure to use Grade 8 bolts and be sure to screw them into the flywheel at least 7/16" and make them all the same. If you use the correct puller, you won't hurt the shaft at all. Be patient, the flywheel probably hasn't been taken off for a long time and will be stubborn. chances are very good that you'll need new breaker points and condensers. If the coils are cracked, replace them and the plug wires. Near the top of this forum, there's a "Top Secret file" which has some salvage companies listed in it. Finding a tiller arm shouldn't be very hard.

You should start a new thread, Bocephus, but to answer your question, you should be running 24:1 gas:eek:il mix. Use TCW3 oil.

Hi river man. Welcome to iboats. Cool old motor y'all got there. Here are some links that will help you get her up and running again in no time. You can get any routine parts (carb kits, tune up kits, reseal kits, impellers, etc...) right here at iboats for about $20 each. You really only need 3 things to get these old gems to run; 1.) Compression (over 90 psi and cylinders within 10% of each other) 2.) Spark (should jump a 1/4" gap) 3.) Fuel (24:1 mix which is about 5.5 fl. oz. of TCW-3 marine outboard 2-stroke oil to 1 US gallon of 87 octane gas). If you have all three of these, she should fire right up. Good luck. Holler if you get stuck.
