hi i just brought a small boat with an 89 merc 8o hp , power trim, it seems to run good this weekend i want to check fluid in lower run it then change plugs , fuel filter.any advice as to what i can do with power trim, also other maintaince things as i am new to merc and had lots of other motors, also they were running cheap oil in it do i have to use merc oil...also no gages on boat, i know i will have to check water pump. it pumps great now, but if this motor runs hot does it have a warning sound like johnson. i am really worried about that, because i dont want to buy this week tach volt meater etc,, but they got rid of all gauges and rode it and it rides good but you cant tell where you are at high rpm because no tach, i will get one in a few weeks but i want to make sure everything else is finebob
