I just bought this motor and when I first started it up it seemed very sluggish to get water to come out exhaust hose top side. I posted 2 videos on photobucket.com, wondering if anyone can tell me it this is normal or should I replace water impeller. Where is best place to get parts for this motor.
Thanks in advance
I am hoping this link works, one vid is motor running and water output, the other is what appears to be water coming down off side ?????

I wasn't able to make the link to the video work. I have the same motor but 1965. When I start the motor it takes but a few seconds and then a lot of water sprays out the discharge at the lower right corner of the power head cowling. Since you just bought the motor and don't know how old the impeller is I would replace it regardless. You can order it right here from iboats. I'd suggest you pull it apart first to inspect the condition of the water pump housing. If the housing and plate are in good shape then all you would need is the impeller. Good luck.

The water output looks normal, but I'd still check or replace the water pump.
