Took the boat out for the 4th of July (92 Sea Ray 17 ft bowrider 3.0 Mercruiser) and the belts started sqeaking. I noticed my lack of power steering at times, and by the time i put the boat on the trailer, the power steering was completely gone. I found that the belt that goes around the alternator had broken.
I have a new belt and have figured out by reading on here how to change it, but i keep seeing that i have to remove the power steering belt (which needs to be replaced anyway), but how do i get it off and back on? Do i have to remove the pulley or is there another secret?
