i've got a 4.3 mercruiser thats stalling. pull off trailer bring up to the dock when shifting the gears and it will stalling. will start after you crank for what seems to be a long time.when cranking you can not smell gas
Sounds like you may have a binding lower shift cable if you have an Alpha drive. The binding cable engages the shift interrupt switch that stops spark to the ignition. This should explain it a little more http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?p=1930449#post1930449
