Tahoe 215 Prop Question

I have a 4.3L Mercruiser (190 HP). Current prop is a 3 blade, 14" 23 pitch aluminum. WOT is 4400 and top speed is 45 mph.

Slow to get on plane and just seems like I should do much better--very bad with 6 adults. Considering a 4 blade, but I get confused about the difference between aluminum and SS. Can you recommend a good one of each and explain the benefits?

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,... Drop down to a 21", 'n yer rpms at Wot oughta be right at 4800.... Perfect....

Don't waste yer money on SSteel,...

Why do you feel its a waste? Seems like many people have different views about ss vs. alum props. And i would like to know your thoughts...
