Please Help Easiest Way to Install Alternator/Waterpump Belt on 2.5litre????

This is my first boat and was on the water yesturday when the belt broke. To me it looks like I either take off the engine mounts or figure out a way to get the lock nut off the top of the tilting mechanism to slide it by. I have a manual but no where does it even mention how to put the new belt on. Thank in advance. Lonnie this is a 1982 MFG Caprice by the way hehe.

Ok so next question my select trim doesnt work. However I can move the motor up and down by wrenching on the lock nut. Will I damage anything in the select trim by doing this manually.

I don't think so, but keep an eye on it. Are you doing this under way? That's quite an undertaking. When mine wasn't working, I just left it sit with a slight bow up attitude and understood I had a trim issue.
