hi,

This is my first boat purchase. After read all the opinion about boat, I decided to go with crownline 210 ccr as a starter boat. Luckily I found a few that I'm interested in, but there is one I really like. However, since I'm new with boating, I really need your opinion on pricing, any input would greatly appreciated.

1994 crownline 210 ccr
Cuddy, sleep 2
Second owner, Low hrs ~230
Porta-porty, table, life jackets.....
Camper top, cockpit cover.....
Stainless steel prop
Trailer is good condition, now spare tire
Mercruiser, AlphaOne, V8, 5.0
Never been slip, store at home

Overall condition is 7/10

This private party asking for 9500

How much do you guys think it worth?
Should I hire a merino surveyor to check the boat out before purchase?

Thanks

Welcome aboard,

I looked around at other models with similar options and it seemed the price, from what I saw, was right in the middle. It also has the life jackets, spare time and covers which are nice to have. I would do the following:

-Look at the overall condition. Look for cracking fiberglass, interior pulling apart, corrosion on the trailer, fittings and engine area, trailer brakes (if it has them) work, trailer tires and bearings. Make sure the covers fit and work.
-Or have a mechanic or someone you know and trust, who has knowledge about boats, to look at it.
-If getting a loan for the boat check to see what they value it at.
-Insurance value.
-Make sure the boat is clear, NO LIENS.
-Test drive it if possible.
-If everything is OK, then offer them a lower dollar amount and see if they take it.
