replace the ball, and get the expensive one.
Unless you already have a second gas line (and it's not a bad idea to have a spare) and you can trouble shoot the issue upstream. It could be a clogged pick-up tube, or, if you have one, the anti-syphon valve at the top of the tank is hanging up. I am dealing with that, now. You can trouble shoot by running the motor from a remote tank.
