Well, ElDiablo (32 Yellowfin, F350's)is certainly proving to be a little more than adequate as a middlegrounds fishing machine....

Capt Eric Mantzke, friends John and Debby as well as the wife and I made the trek out offshore yesterday morning.

We left from the Hudson public ramp after picking up our guests and within minutes were up on plane and turning 5300 rpm's and moving along about 52 mph....the 70 mile run was over pretty quickly.

We have had this wreck we had been to before and always found lots of sealife...and that day was no different. Man, what a collection of fish, sharks, and a big ray!!

We drifted using broken spanish sardines to get some scent in the water...and found the bite kinda slow. We were all a little hungry so some food was passed around as we made another drift. Things picked up! Several big AJ';s came over and promptly released..they are closed till the end of July. A couple of ARS were picked up, then a mango or two along with some red grouper..

One more drift brought us over good structure and we anchored. For the next few hours it was great bite....getting better as we prepared to leave by 2:00 pm..

Our biggest (32") gag came over the side..and then some doubles as well as a couple more red grouper...

All in all another great day in the shallow end of the middlegrounds. We stayed right at 120 feet and had a ball!
