i just recently bought my first boat it is a 1987 bayliner 1700 capri with a 85 hp force outboard. its starts right up no problem but took it lake and it will only go about 15mph, when i throttle it up it dies.. it startsz right back up and i can only throttle a .little before it cuts out and dies. i replaced plugs when i bought it put frsh gas with the right oil mixture. somebody told me it sounds like carbs need cleaned or rebuilt. does this sound right whats the differnce in cleaning carb and rebuilding carb . the boat sat for about a year before i bought it.
