I have gotten this motor started but I am not seeing any water coming out anywhere.
Should there be? If so can a rookie do it or should I take it to a shop? I dont have a lot
of money so if i can get it going my son will love it. Plus gas mixture. For starters i mixed
It 29:1 but am not exactley sure. Anyone have answers? Thank You for your time!

Re: 5hp seaking model GG8977B question

That is a 1959 5hp motor built by Gale Products Division of OMC. It is a Gale model 5D15. Many, but not all, parts are same as Evinrude and Johnson 5.5hp.

Yes, you absolutely should see a healthy spray of water coming out the exhaust relief hole, about half way down the backside, any time it is running.

Mixture originally was 16:1, now changed to 24:1. Do not run it any leaner.

Water pump impeller and some other parts are available right here at iboats. Use the Johnson/Evinrude 5.5 listings.

EDIT: Correction: The Gale model is 5D16
