OMC tallboy to standard?

Hello everyone! This is my first post on this forum. I have a 1972 Imp Aztec, my question is can the OMC stringer tallboy outdrive be replaced with a standard OMC outdrive?

no. your prop will be 4" too shallow. the prop will cavitate in the boat's trough.

Ayuh,.... You could Rip out the whole driveline, 'n lower it 4".....

Although if yer gonna do that kinda work,... I'd drop in a Mercruiser, or Volvo driveline....
