Hold the lever or button in and "grip" the seat with your forearms, use a side to side rocking motion to loosen the pedestal in the receptcle while lifting up with your forearms on the seat.
Just holding the button or lever in and pulling up will never get that darn thing out of there, ya gotta wiggle it while pulling up.
