Boat seat bracket on bench seat of jon boat

I have a jon boat with bench seats. Want to install sturdy seats. Have tried those sliding brackets with wing nuts. Too cumbersome. What's the best way to mount brackets to bench seat so I can attach seats? Aluminum is thin. Bolt down wood platform? Looking for ideas. Thanks.

If you want them to be permanent and not removable, then I'd make some 1 1/2 " thick beveled platforms with T-Nuts on the bottom. Drill thru the tops of the bench seats and toggle bolt the platforms to them. You can then bolt swivels to the platforms and the seats will be solid as a rock. If you Paint them with 3 coats of Oil base Rusoleum paint and keep the boat covered in the off season they'll last for a decade. Something kinda like this... will work equally well on a bench seat in a tinny.
