So I've been scouring the internet for a while trying to find anyone who's had a similar issue to what I'm having. So far not luck.
What is happening is that when the trolling motor is producing thrust (whether the momentary switch is flipped on or not) the amount of thrust produced is almost constantly fluctuating. I was messing around with it on the lake today and just headed out on a straight line with the Mom. switch on and the speed setting around 4. Watching/listening to the speed of the prop, it seemed to vary between 1 and 4. The issue gets even worse if the motor is not pointed directly straight ahead. If it is pointed left, the motor spins at about half the speed it is set to. If it is pointed to the right, the motor seems to spin at a higher speed than it is set to.
I have not opened up anything as of yet, but the batteries are fully charged and the issue was not present last year. After reading through a few other semi-similar posts, it sounds like the problem could be in the foot pedal control board, or the wiring within the unit itself. I'm just curious if anyone has had this particular issue before I dive into it.
